Short rows are an important technique for various garment constructions (i.e. neckline shaping, bust shaping, or sock heels) but they aren’t limited to just being a tool for a better fitting garment - they can also be utilized to create dynamic colorwork motifs! In this class, we will practice different short row methods while creating a colorful cowl. This type of colorwork lends itself well to pairing a solid or semi-solid background color with a contrasting variegated yarn or handspun yarn (think about pairing one of our Tumalo Fiber semi-solids with handspun-inspired Spincycle Dream State). Another great option is pairing a solid background with different colors of mini-skeins or scraps for a great stash-busting project.
