Shetland sheep are a small statured heritage breed with origins on the Shetland islands. This is an "all-around" wool being soft, strong, and warm. It does have some of the “crunch” factor of a woolly wool which makes it durable and a great choice for any piece that you want to hold up over time. It fluffs up beautifully after washing and continues to get better with time and wear. If you’re a fan of vintage knitting, Fair Isle knitting, or lace work then this is a great yarn for that purpose.
