This course is designed for the beginning knitter who is ready to build on their skills and grow in confidence. In Knitting 102, you’ll learn the following:
- how to knit a gauge swatch
- knit in the round
- read and follow a pattern
- fix common mistakes — all while working on a real project from start to finish.
During class, you’ll be knitting the Hipster Hat by Tin Can Knits, a fun and approachable pattern that reinforces the techniques we cover.
Class size is intentionally kept small (maximum of 6 people) so everyone has time, space, and plenty of support for questions.
Class registration includes:
- Yarn
- A complete knitter’s kit to support you well beyond this class
Each student will receive a cute acrylic stuffed sheep box, filled with everything you’ll need to continue on your knitting adventure, including:
- Tape measure
- A pair of snips (colors/designs may vary)
- A set of locking stitch markers
- A set of yarn ball stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
- Gauge tool
- Fix-it tool
- Your choice of stitch stoppers (selected during class)
Needles for class:
You will need US 6 (4 mm) and US 8 (5 mm) 16" circular knitting needles.
- If you’ve taken Knitting 101 with us, you already received the US 8 needle needed for this class.
- You will receive the US 6 needle in class — no need to purchase anything additional.
- If you have not taken Knitting 101 and need needles, you’ll receive a 20% discount on the needles required for class.
Come ready to learn, practice, laugh, and leave with new skills, a finished handknit hat, and a tool kit you’ll reach for again and again.
